Graduation
I graduated from high school today!
It was a very joyous occasion. Pomp & Circumstance was beautifully played, the march was invigorating, the speeches were wonderful, and all the laughter and school spirit was just something to behold.
It was also a quite sad occasion, a real tearjerker. I would never see some of those people who walked across the stage ever again. And one of my friends sitting next to me kept tearing up and dabbing a tissue at her eyes which of course made me want to start tearing up to. It was the end of a great era.
I keep replaying everything in my head… the music, the speeches, the crazy families cheering. The walk up and across the stage so nervous I would be that one schmuck who would trip (I didn’t trip!).
But besides graduation, I also keep replaying all the wonderful memories I have from the past four years. I’ll never forget all the wonderful people I’ve met… all those people that I became friends with from the very first week, the people who considered me worthy enough to strike up a small conversation with me… even the people who I don’t remember saying more than a few words to since the first day. The Class of 2012, they’re all special to me. And for now, I’m still more sad to see everybody go than happy to finish high school.
Oh well, at least I have those memories.
I wish I was spectacular at something
…or maybe even a little spectacular at something.
Oh well.
